Why The Long Face?

OK, this is just the kind of thing that happens to me way too often...

I was at a stable, just minding my own business, when this totally mad horse jerked his head round the corner and stuck it smack in my face! I guess it was a knee-jerk reaction to take the picture, though I didn't have much time to worry about composition and DOF--it was enough to stay on my feet and hang onto the camera and keep my underwear dry :-/
